  • Nickelodeon to air new IP on Sonic & Colors Rishtey

    Nickelodeon is all set to bring its recently announced 13th homegrown IP – ‘Kanha – Morpankh Samraat’ on Sonic. Nickelodeon will extend the show beyond its channel, and make way to the Viacom18’s Hindi general entertainment channel Colors Rishtey, thereby strengthening the kids’ franchise’s presence across different age groups and widening its impact.

     

    Speaking on the latest addition to its homegrown IP lineup, Nina Elavia Jaipuria, Head, Hindi Mass Entertainment and Kids TV Network, Viacom18, said, “At Nickelodeon, we have consistently set category benchmarks, revolutionising entertainment for young audiences. We believe that introducing a show like Kanha – Morpankh Samraat will help kids connect to their roots through inspiring tales from our rich cultural heritage.   • Cosmos Maya announces key appointments, forays into VFX

    Animation company Cosmos-Maya has strengthened its leadership team with key appointments, that of Kaushal Nanavati as its Chief Revenue Officer, and Asif Khan as its Business Head – New Ventures (VFX, EdTech).

     

    The duo will work closely with Megha Tata, CEO Cosmos-Maya, towards the company’s next phase of growth. The Singapore-headquartered company, was founded by filmmaker Ketan and Deepa Mehta and is backed by NewQuest Capital Partners.

     

    Talking about the new appointments, Megha said: “We are delighted to welcome Kaushal and Asif to our senior leadership team. They bring years of experience and expertise in their respective fields and the combined force of their vision will help Cosmos Maya to reach new heights. We welcome them to the Cosmos Maya family, and I’m thrilled to work on new business opportunities together.”

     

  • It’s 10 years for Motu Patlu

    Leading kids’ entertainment channel has informed that its popular toon icon Motu Patlu has completed 10 years of existence.

     

    Notes a communique: “From being born as characters in kids’ magazine Lotpot, to coming to life on television to being the first ever Indian animated character duo – brought to life by Cosmos Maya – to have their statues at Madame Tussauds, Delhi, Motu Patlu’s meteoric journey has been unmatched

     

    Speaking on the milestone, Nina Elavia Jaipuria, Head, Hindi Mass Entertainment & Kids TV Network, Viacom18, said: “Nickelodeon has truly been revolutionary in changing the face of kids entertainment in India. Ten years ago, the Indian kids’ entertainment category was in need of indigenous characters and stories and Nickelodeon, with the launch of Motu Patlu, successfully paved the way.   • Megha Tata joins Cosmos-Maya as CEO

    Leading animation firm Cosmos-Maya India Private Limited has announced the appointment of Megha Tata as its Chief Executive Officer. Tata who will oversee the company’s operations and lead the animation studio into its next phase of growth. Her appointment comes at the heels of the company’s recent announcement of a USD 50 million investment plan to facilitate growth and expansion in Europe and North America.

     

    Prior to Cosmos-Maya, Tata was a Managing Director at Discovery Communications India. She has held leadership positions across other eminent broadcasters such as BTVI, HBO, Turner International India, and Star India. At Cosmos-Maya, Tata aims to leverage her wealth of knowledge and decades of expertise to drive the organisation’s next phase of growth and solidify the studio’s position as the foremost animation studio in Asia.
