  • At Clio 2016, Taproot Dentsu is ‘Agency of the Year – India’

     

     

    Taproot Dentsu has been announced ‘Agency of the Year – India’ at the 2016 Clio Awards.

     

    It’s the first ever Indian agency to earn this honour. The ‘Agency of the Year X Country’ Award is given to the agency with the most statue points earned in 2016 in each of the top 15 entrant countries.

     

    The Clio’s is one of the biggest global awards competition for the creative advertising business. Founded in 1959 to celebrate high achievement in advertising, the Clio’s annually and throughout the year, recognise the work, the agencies and the talent that push boundaries.

     

    “Clio’s is one of the most prestigious and sought after advertising awards in the world today. And to be honored as the best Indian creative agency of the year is nothing short of an honour.   • CLIO Lifetime Award for Piyush Pandey

    The CLIO Awards, one of the world’s most recognized awards competitions honouring excellence in advertising, design and communications, today named Piyush Pandey as the recipient of the 2012 CLIO Lifetime Achievement Award. Mr Pandey, the Executive Chairman and Creative Director of South Asia for Ogilvy & Mather India, will be the first person from the region to receive the distinction. With a prolific advertising career spanning three decades, Mr Pandey is often revered as “the godfather of Indian advertising” by peers. He will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 53rdannual CLIO Awards ceremony, taking place on Tuesday, May 15, at the American Museum of Natural History in New York.

     

    The CLIO Lifetime Achievement Award, one of the most prestigious honours in the advertising industry, recognizes the outstanding creative contributions of an individual who leads the advertising community forward.

     

    “Piyush truly embodies the spirit of this award,” said CLIO director, Karl Vontz. “He not only possesses wonderful creative vision, but he is a great leader who motivates everyone around him with his enthusiasm and passion. We look forward to celebrating his body of work and his ongoing contributions in the field of advertising.”

     

    Mr Pandey, the recipient of the 2010 Advertising Agencies Association of India Lifetime Achievement Award, has won five CLIO Awards to date. The Economic Times has rated O&M the number one advertising agency in the country eight times in a row under his leadership. The paper also named him the most influential man in Indian advertising for eight straight years. With more than 600 international awards to its credit, O&M India is ranked among the most creative offices in the entire O&M network.

     

    Under Mr Pandey’s stewardship, O&M India weathered the storm of the 2009 worldwide financial crisis and won Media Magazine’s Office Of The Year Award. In the same year, Mr Pandey unveiled mobile service provider Vodafone’s popular ZooZoo characters, a social phenomenon that swept India.

     

    CLIO established its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001.

     

     

  • Mirchi Kaan Awards to celebrate best in radio advertising

    Introduced in 2004, the Mirchi Kaan Awards acknowledges and honours the contribution of individuals and organizations that have led the way in creating clutter breaking radio advertising. The awards have been instituted to encourage continued creative focus on radio advertising and are now synonymous with excellence in creativity in radio.

     

    While every year, the journey to the awards ceremony is a fun-filled, vibrant process keeping in mind the personality of Radio Mirchi, this year the focus is centred solely on the quality of work. Which is why, this year’s edition will see world renowned radio guru, Tony Hertz, conducting a workshop on the art and craft of radio advertising. Mr Hertz’s passion for radio has seen his career, which spans over 40 years and across six continents, as creative director at multiple agencies and the boss of two radio specialist outfits.

     

    With his experience, he has served twice on the Cannes Lions Radio Jury, on the 2011 D&AD Radio panel and as president of the Clio Awards Radio Jury. Apart from 22 Clios, multiple Gold and Silver ILR Awards, London International Awards and The New York Festivals Awards, Tony is also the only person to have won both D&AD Black and Yellow Radio Pencils.

     

    The country’s most prestigious radio awards, Mirchi Kaan will work towards raising professionalism and talent among writers. And their new mantra is to listen, learn and shine.

     

    The last date to send entries to Kaan Awards is March 18.
