  • GroupM forecast for 2022: 22.2% AdEx growth

    WPP-owned media investment conglomerate GroupM has  announced its  advertising expenditure (AdEx) forecasts for 2022. As per the GroupM futures report ‘This Year, Next Year’ (TYNY) 2022, the adspends are estimated to reach 107,987crs in 2022. This represents the estimated growth of 22% for the calendar year 2022. India will be the fastest-growing market among the top 10 global markets and retains its 9th rank in 2022, as per the report. See GroupM TYNY2022 deck.

     

    Commenting on the TYNY 2022 report, Prasanth Kumar, CEO, GroupM South Asia said, “The pandemic has pushed the envelope towards digital and has hence topped the pie, with advertisers keen to explore more of it. Ecommerce and Telco will drive the economy, we also expect FMCG and auto to slowly catch up and contribute towards this growth.”

     

    Added Tushar Vyas, President – Growth and Transformation, GroupM South Asia: “With the pivot to digital by consumers and companies alike, digital emerges as the largest medium in 2022 with an estimated share of 45%.  Digital is estimated to grow by 33% in 2022. As digital capabilities enhance and connectivity becomes omnipresent, technology will further poise and change almost every sector of India’s economy.”

  • GroupM India appoints Ritika Taneja as head of e-com

    Ritika TanejaGroupM India announces the appointment of Ritika Taneja as Head of E-commerce. She will be leading the e-commerce product offerings to clients and will also be responsible at co-creating the e-commerce vision and strategy charter for GroupM India. Taneja will be based out Gurugram and report to Atique Kazi, President – Data, Performance and Digital Products, GroupM India, and closely work with Toni Ruotanen, Head of E-commerce services GroupM APAC.

  • Xaxis bolsters APAC leadership

    GroupM arm Xaxis announced the promotion of Atique Kazi to Vice President, Business Development, Xaxis Asia Pacific, and Bharat Khatri to Country Lead, Xaxis India, as well as appointing Daniel Henriksen as Head of Outcome Media Planning, Xaxis Asia.

     

    Kazi will be succeeded by Bharat Khatri, who has been officially promoted to take on the role of Country Lead for Xaxis India. Khatri has more than 10 years’ experience as a strategic digital marketer, and has spent the last four and half years working relentlessly to grow Xaxis in India.

     

    “Atique and Bharat have both been pivotal in the remarkable growth that we have experienced over the past few years. Their elevation is well-deserved, as they truly embody a strong resilience in client centricity and a constant focus on product innovation,” said Arshan Saha, President of Xaxis APAC.

     

    Xaxis also welcomes Daniel Henrikson to the executive team in a newly-created role as Head of Outcome Media Planning. Henrikson brings with him eight years of programmatic experience spanning North America, Asia and Europe. He previously worked in programmatic and performance domains with the Omnicom Group.
