  • Madison Media wins Viber India media biz

    Madison Media Plus has announced the media win of instant messaging and calling app Viber in India. The account was won in a multi agency pitch. The account will be handled out of the agency’s Delhi office.

     

    Viber is a pioneering mobile messaging, voice and video service that lets everyone in the world connect. Users can send free text messages, fun stickers, photos, videos and doodles, share locations anywhere in the world, make free HD-quality calls and communicate with Push-To-Talk. With Viber Out, users can make low-cost calls to any phone number around the world. Currently Viber has more than 35 million users in India.

     

    Commenting on this development, Anubhav Nayyar, Country Head Viber Media India, said, “We partnered with Madison as we were impressed with their overall approach and business strategy for Viber. In addition, they demonstrated a very sound understanding of the internet and social networking space.”

  • Viber unveils first ever ad campaign

    Viber, one of the fastest growing instant messaging app in India has unveiled its first ever television campaign in India. An app for today’s youth, Viber is being used heavily in both the metropolitans as well as the emerging cities.

     

    The new campaign is fun and exciting and seeks to connect to the youth via a talking dog who chronicles the benefits of using Viber. It showcases how Viber changes the dull life of the dog’s owner and make him more social and connected with friends and ultimately becomes ‘Mr. Popular’.

  • Viber India hands BBH its creative biz

    Following a multi agency pitch, Viber has awarded BBH India its creative mandate for the India business. Viber is one of the largest global free mobile calling and messaging apps. It has other features like sharing videos, photos, messaging using stickers, doodle a message and more. Viber is growing steadily and has a subscriber base of 300 million registered users globally, of which 16 million are from India.

     

    BBH India is Viber’s first creative agency and they will be in-charge of developing the brand architecture and positioning for the brand. And will be rolling out engagement modules across traditional and new age platforms that are consumer focused.

     

    On choosing BBH India as their creative partner Anubhav Nayyar, Country Head, Viber India said, “Viber as a brand has been growing rapidly, especially over the last six months in India. We were looking at a creative partner that understands this category and is disruptive in their thinking.
