  • Aha OTT unveils expansion plans

    Aha streaming service, offering Telugu and Tamil-language content, unveiled plans for expansion in new languages and genres.

    Giving details about the investment, Allu Aravind, Promoter, aha said: “We are happy with the run we’ve had in these three years. We know that aha came in and catered to a gap in the OTT space by offering 100% local content. Today three years since, we are successful in Telugu and we are growing fast in Tamil and I believe the time has come for us to grow further into more languages. I am happy to say that over the next three years, we have a solid plan of growth with expansion into new languages and genres; and to that end, we are committed to infusing Rs 1000 crores.”

    Ajit Thakur, CEO aha added: “Today aha is synonymous with 100% local entertainment. We believe within our current markets we have a lot more to offer beyond the films and original series that we have come to be known for. We are committed to making aha a super app for our local audiences, and towards that over the next three years we will offer gaming, news, K-dramas, short form, interactive content, and a host of other features on our platform. In addition, we have also started working on our plans to launch in Malayalam and Kannada.”

     

  • Aha OTT platform launches in Malaysia

    The video on-demand and Tamil over-the-top (OTT) streaming service, Aha, has launched in Malaysia with a content offering for the local Tamil diaspora. Actor Simbu and musician Anirudh Ravichandran are the brand ambassadors for Aha.

     

    Commenting on Malaysia launch Ajit K Thakur, CEO, Aha, said: “At Aha, we are proud of our unique proposition of providing 100% local entertainment to the audience and we are delighted to bring 100% local entertainment now to Malaysia.  With the launch of aha in Malaysia, we will not only offer the best of Tamil movies and originals to the audience but also source and create content with local film-makers and artists”

     

  • Pad Integrated creates campaign for Telugu OTT Aha

    Pad Integrated Communications has developed a campaign for Aha, the OTT platform. The promotional film is titled ‘Orange Is The Colour Of Entertainment | aha Everywhere’.

     

    Said Gautam Reddy, CEO, Pad Integrated Communication: “In less than eight months since its inception, Aha has seen a staggering rise of 5 million downloads and 18 million unique viewers and that is what we wanted to celebrate. The phenomenal rise of the platform by showcasing how the states are turning orange – the colour of Aha which depicts 100% Telugu entertainment felt the right way. The film has the essence of Aha’s true story – how quickly they took over the regional market.”
