    ABP Network has launched a promotional campaign for its ABP Live Smart TV app. The app, which is available on Android TV, Apple TV, Fire TV, LG Smart TV and other platforms offers a range of advanced features that make it a must-have for any Indian television viewers.

     

    Adds a communique: “The new promotional campaign is designed with highlighting special features specifically for news viewing enthusiasts. The campaign encourages users to watch all ABP Network channels on a single platform. It further offers them to pause and repeat any part of a show or news on the smart TV app and, also lets the viewers watch their favourite show at a time convenient to them. The new promotional campaign is a reminder of ABP Network’s ongoing commitment to making television accessible to everyone.”

     

  • ABP goes the golf route. First Hindi & regional network to patronise elite sport

    ABP Network has entered a first of its kind partnership with Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) to be the digital media partner for its various golf tournaments to be held in 2021. It has become the first Hindi news network to cover a golf tour in the country and broadcast it live on its digital platform – ABP Live, and its associated social media platforms.

     

    Said Avinash Pandey, CEO, ABP Network, commenting on the partnership: “While golf is rising as a sport in India, we at ABP believe that Golf should be made accessible to the masses of the country and ABP with its widespread reach and popularity strives to make this possible. Over the last few years, we have been aggressively looking towards ramping up our offerings in the sports segment like Kabbadi and Olympics, while not remaining restricted to cricket. This initiative of broadcasting golf is in line with the larger goal. It’s a prestigious moment for the network to associate with PGTI and facilitate a pan-Indian viewership for the tournament.”

     

     

  • ABP News Network rejigs digital leadership

    ABP News Network’s digital platform, ABP Live, has restructured its workforce. The platform operates eight web portals in six different languages.

     

    Vijay Jung Thapa will be Chief Digital Officer. Ramakrishnan Laxman will be Digital Media Head and Allen Sharma will be the new Head – Digital Revenues. In this role, he will be accountable for direct sales, digital revenues, programmatic monetisation and brand solution monetization. Also Tushar Banerjee has been appointed Head- Digital Content Strategy.

     

    Speaking on the development, Avinash Pandey, CEO – ABP News Network, said: “In an ever-growing digital era, it is crucial to evolve and keep up with the market pace. The main aim of this decision is to empower our workforce to revolutionize digital news through innovation. This digital push will also help us tap newer audiences and overall maximize the potential of our content.   • Uday Shankar delivers 2019 AAAI Subhas Ghosal Memorial Lecture

    Uday Shankar, President, The Walt Disney Company Asia Pacific and Chairman, Star and Disney India delivered the AAAI Subhas Ghosal Memorial Lecture 2019 at Four Seasons, Worli, Mumbai on Monday.

     

    Outlining why he has been in media for 30 years and continues to be so, Shankar said, “My career, first as a journalist and then as a broader media professional, let me observe and understand this country deeply, objectively and uniquely. As I slowly discovered, my profession also equipped me with an ability to impact this country and its people – both individually and collectively – in a way that few, if any other professions could have. It is the media – the journalists; the advertisers; the story tellers who enable us to make sense of the world. My 30 years in the media industry feels like I am just getting started because it has allowed me to not only understand and experience India in an unbelievable way, but over the years we have become change agents for India.”

     

    Prabhakar Mundkur, a veteran from the advertising world and currently Brand Strategy Advisor and a frequent contributor to MxMIndia, reminisced about Ghosal gave the audience an insight into what made him an outstanding advertising man and a leader that the entire advertising industry loved and revered.

     

    Said Sam Balsara, “On behalf of Subhas Ghosal Foundation, I want to thank Uday Shankar for kindly agreeing to deliver the Lecture and delivering an outstanding, enlightening and thought provoking one.   • Rajan Anandan to deliver Subhas Ghosal Lecture

    Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) and Subhas Ghosal Foundation (SGF) have announced the Subhas Ghosal Memorial Lecture by Rajan Anandan, Vice President, Google India and South East Asia on Thursday, September 20, 2018 in Mumbai.

     

    Anandan will speak on what the new internet sser is like and what to expect in the digital world we now live in, a few years from now.

     

    Said Ashish Bhasin, President, AAAI: “In a world that is rapidly being disrupted by digital, it will be extremely interesting to and important for everyone to prepare themselves. We at AAAI look forward to Rajan Anandan’s perspectives at the Subhas Ghosal Memorial Lecture.”
