  • 9X Media appoints Bhupendra Makhi as CEO

    9X Media has announced that it has elevated Bhupendra Makhi to Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He has been with the organisation since 2007. In his new role, Makhi will spearhead strategic business developments for the company, while advancing and strengthening the company’s strategic focus in India.

     

    Commenting on his elevation as CEO, Makhi said: “I am grateful to our investors and the Board for entrusting me with this role. 9X Media has reached an important stage, having met significant milestones, and achieving positive performance. We remain highly encouraged and I look forward to continuing to work closely with all the teams for the benefit of the company and creating value for our stakeholders.”

     

  • Himindraa R Saxena takes charge of 9X Media distribution

    9X Media’s Senior Vice President  Finance Himindraa R Saxena has taken additional charge of distribution for the Network. Saxena has been associated with the network for over 15 years. He will continue to report to Bhupendra Makhi  Director and Chief Financial Officer, 9X Media.

     

    Commenting on his additional charge as distribution head, Saxena said: “I feel honoured to take the additional charge of distribution at India’s largest music television network! Distribution plays a crucial role in the success of any television channel and in case of FTA channels the right placement and reach become extremely important. My priority as distribution head is to ensure better reach and connectivity for all our channels.”

     

  • 9X Media restructures ad sales team

    9X Media has restructured its adsales team. Ajay Bedi, Darpan Kindalkar and Anusri Unnikrishnan have been elevated to National Sales Head of 9X Jalwa, 9X Tashan and 9X Jhakaas respectively. While Bedi will report to Nihal Ghosh, the others will report to Deepali Oroskar. The flagship channel – 9XM – will be managed directly by Ghosh.

     

    Commenting on the development, Punit Pandey, Chief Business Officer, 9X Media Pvt. Ltd. said: “The entertainment industry, especially the music industry in India is going through an exciting transition. The past two years have been difficult for a majority of people. In these difficult times, Music stood out as a companion. Music helped people to de-stress. Hence the consumption of music has increased. Being India’s largest music television broadcaster, we want to leverage this momentum. The restructuring of the Ad Sales team will definitely take the network towards the next phase of success and achievements.”

     

  • 9X Media strengthens adsales team

    Music network 9X Media Pvt. Ltd has announced the elevation of Deepali Oroskar and Nihal Ghosh to Senior Vice President of Ad Sales. They will report to Punit Pandey  Chief Business Officer, 9X Media.

     

    Commenting on this development  Pandey said: “Deepali and Nihal have both been with the organisation for over a decade and have consistently proven their mettle. They have lead the ad sales teams to achieve better revenue targets and have performed extremely well. In their new roles, I am confident that they will achieve much success, steering the Network towards the next phase of growth.”

     

  • Punit Pandey of 9X Media takes additional charge of revenue

    Network 9X Media’s Chief Business Officer Punit Pandey has taken additional charge of revenue for the network. Being part of 9X Media’s executive team, Pandey will work closely with the Board of Directors to drive the next phase of growth for the network.

  • 9XM launches Loppipops Youtube channel

    Music television network 9X Media launched ‘Loppipops’, a kids’ learning channel available on YouTube. The channel will showcase specially designed and curated playlist of kids’ rhymes and videos, presented by duo Bade-Chote and their gang of animated characters.

     

    Commenting on the launch of Loppipops, Amar Tidke Chief Programming Officer, 9X Media said: “We are delighted to launch Loppipops Kids learning YouTube Channel on the occasion of Children’s Day. Loppipops will captivate the interest of its young audience in a fun and memorable manner. Over the years, Bade Chote and their friends have become iconic house-hold names extending the IP into the kids space was a natural progression with the ever increasing demand for kid’s content. Music is the building block of early learning and as a music network we have over the years experimented in various ways to entertain our audiences through music.     Kanan has been heading Marketing at 9X Media for the past 2 years. She is an experienced industry professional, with a career spanning over 15 years in media and entertainment sector. In her earlier roles at UTV and Disney, Kanan has managed the music and film marketing business, having worked on more than 50 movies across languages.

  • Ashwinikumar Patil appointed Programming Head for 9X Jhakaas

    9X Media has announced the appointment of Ashwinikumar Patil as Head of Programming for 9X Jhakaas – leading Marathi music channel. Ashwinikumar would be reporting to Amar Tidke, Chief Programming Officer of 9X Media.

     

    With over 12 years of experience in programming and production, Ashwinikumar has worked across a broad spectrum of media & entertainment companies including Zee Marathi, Zee Talkies, etc. Ashwinikumar started his career as a Radio Jockey on Big FM Mumbai station. Later he went on to launch the Solapur, Indore and Gwalior radio stations at Big FM. He has also held the position of Regional Non-fiction Head at Reliance Big Productions.

     

    Commenting on Ashwinikumar’s appointment, Amar Tidke, Chief Programming Officer, 9X Media Pvt. Ltd. said, “9X Jhakaas has grown manifold times since its launch 4 years ago. Today, the Channel is a major player in the Marathi music and entertainment industry. I welcome Ashwinikumar on board.   • 9X Media to cater to branded content space with ABC

    9X Media Pvt. Ltd. has created a separate division called Audience – Brand Connect (ABC) to handle the business of branded content for the Network. ABC will help brands create Intellectual properties and narrate their brand stories beyond the 30-second ad format. The new division will develop bespoke advertising and promotion options for marketers across 9X Media’s music channels namely 9XM, 9X Jalwa, 9X Tashan, 9X Jhakaas and 9XO.

     

    Commenting on the initiative, Pawan Jailkhani, Chief Revenue Officer, 9X Media Pvt. Ltd. said, “In the recent past, we have been successful in creating branded content shows such as #Asktrack and The Sunday Flea Market. Both these shows received an overwhelming response from the consumers. We now want to take the branded content business to the next level with the launch of Audience – Brand Connect. Our youth centric content and the wide reach across HSM (Hindi Speaking Market) through our music channels, give us better insights into this business.”

This would include co-created customized shows, on-ground large format events and consumer engagements on the digital platform.

     

    Audience – Brand Connect will be headed by Uday Thareja – Vice President of Ad sales at the Network. Uday will continue to report to Pawan Jailkhani.

     

  • 9X Media launches catchy tune on World Music Day

    Music network 9X Media has created a unique song titled Tung Tucking Ting to emphasize its connect with music. The Tung Tucking Ting song has been uploaded on YouTube and is being aired across all 9X Media’s music channels on June 21 to celebrate World Music Day.

     

    “Think Music Think 9X Media is what we aimed at and today 9X Media is synonymous with good music across all genres. We believed that though there is lot of music around us there needs to be a benchmark set for what we air on our channels, this facilitated our journey of gaining the #1 position across all our channels. The Tung Tucking Ting music video is a happy and catchy number that will remain with music lovers,” said Punit Pandey, Executive Vice President & New Business Head – 9X Media Network.

     

    The Tung Tucking Ting song is written & composed by Vaayu Srivastava and arranged by Tanishk Bagchi and the music video was created in association with Clockwork Studio.

  • 9XM elevates Pawan Jailkhani & Punit Pandey

    9X Media has elevated Pawan Jailkhani to the position of Chief Revenue Officer and Punit Pandey to the position of Executive Vice President. The 9X Media Group has been on a high growth trajectory since 2011, adding 5 music channels to its network, besides the Group’s flagship music channel – 9XM.

     

    In his new role, Pawan Jailkhani will be responsible for all forms of revenue across the existing six music television channels operated by the 9X Media Group. He will also be in charge of revenue for all future launches by 9X Media.

     

    Punit Pandey, in his new role as Executive Vice President, will be responsible for the new business initiatives by the Network and would also continue to head the business aspect of the existing six music channels.
